One important business advisory firm has recently conducted a new nationwide survey in the United States. The results proved to be promising for both the online gambling and land based industry in the country. According to the survey, 35% of active gamblers said they would wager online if it were legal and at the same time only 15% said they would reduce their visits to land based facilities if online casinos become legal. A large number of respondents, 57% exactly, said they would rather wager at online websites run by local popular land casino brands and almost 58% said they would love to play at online casinos that let them earn loyalty points redeemable at land casinos. These figures show that online gambling and land gambling seem to complement each other and that is good news for the whole American gambling industry. The survey also says that accessibility, win expectations, customer service levels and bankroll requirements are the key factors that influence gaming activity decisions.

The Gaming Standards Association (GSA) has set up an online gaming committee in order to identify potentially problematic issues and develop a comprehensive framework for technical standards for regulated online gaming. GSA members are big names in the online casino industry, including Aristocrat Technologies, Bally Technologies, International Game Technology, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and WMS Gaming. GSA’s president stated that although online gaming has existed in some form for more than 18 years, yet there is no proper understanding of what it is. He believes that affiliations with existing industry organizations that can identify partnerships is the most important thing that will move the industry forward. Also, most gambling regulators think that a unified global communication standard would lower integration costs, increase speed of communication and foster continued technology innovation.
GSA also published an independent survey which listed the five most important factors in selecting an online gambling site. The majority of the 1,031 adult Americans said these factors are ease of registering, ease of navigation, lack of wait times for desired activities, availability of options at desired wagering levels and security of financial information and deposited funds.
