New Jersey is one of the three American states that decided to legalize online gambling for their citizens. Therefore, you can say the residents of New Jersey have been spoiled when it comes to the liberation of casino gambling. A few days ago, regulators announced they are preparing to give residents an extra treat this Thanksgiving. The target date to launch the state’s first online casino is still the end of November, a couple of days before Thanksgiving. This way, citizens will have something to look forward to while they digest their Thanksgiving meals.

The struggling Atlantic City casinos are considered to be the biggest winners in the expansion of online gambling in New Jersey. These land-based casinos are looking forward to taking their brands online as they have not rebounded from the 2008 economic recession. The November 26th deadline will provide a huge boost for Atlantic City casinos as many players will gather at home with their families. The launch of this service into a holiday weekend will provide casinos with a decent opportunity to put up strong revenue numbers out of the gate. Analysts believe the deadline can be reached and residents are expected to try out the new online casino products from the comfort of their homes, in the holiday weekend.

Over the past two years, New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware have created online gambling regulation laws. The revenues collected from online casino companies are necessary for the struggling economy and other important American states are crafting their own laws on online gambling. Nevada was the first state to open an online casino in BETA mode and other casinos are expected to come in the next few weeks. Delaware has also regulated the industry and will offer online casino products and services to its residents. Currently, there are no federal online gambling regulations. If the federal law does not change soon, other states will authorize the activity on their own, leaving the federal government without a piece of the gambling revenue generated in these states. Lawmakers in Nevada and New Jersey have left the door open for pooling their players should federal laws change.
